Genesis 6:5

Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (Genesis 6:5 NKJV)

Can God see into the hearts of men? Can He see the future? Some people argue that God killed innocent women and children in the flood. The Bible says that their hearts were evil continually. Was God heartless? Absolutely not. He waits to destroy until their sin is complete. The old King James translates the word thoughts as every imagination. The word can also be translated as graven image. The idea is that God saw that their boughs were wicked all the time and there was no chance of turning.
